Sydney Bishop has been making pottery for the last 15 years. She uses a variety of different techniques from nature printing to hand painting and carving. As she summers in Halibut Cove, Alaska and winters in Hawaii she has studios in both of her homes. Her work ranges in size from 3 inch free form dishes to 16 inch platters and everything in between. When she is not in her studio she is a boat captain taking people snorkeling and whale watching in Hawaii, or driving the Kachemak Bay ferry " Danny J" between Homer and Halibut Cove, Alaska. Her other work includes printmaking and painting. Paintings can be seen at tidelineartists.com.
Halibut Cove is located 5 miles across Kachemak Bay from Homer on the Kenai Peninsula. It is accessible by boat and float plane only. Many artists have made this their home because of the incredible natural beauty. We have a communtiy art gallery called "Halibut Cove Experience Gallery" which features the work of many of the artists here inspired by the amazing place we live.
